To celebrate the U.S. launch of its new line of pre-mixed cocktails, Bacardi+, the veteran booze brand is throwing 10 simultaneous parties in cities across the country. And guess who made the list: Las Vegas. On Friday, May 4, Bacardi will welcome guests at a secret location (to be revealed May 3) for performances by The Hood Internet, John Doe, Phoreyz and more. RSVP at facebook.com/bacardiplus for free entry.
The north end of the Strip is slated to get a good deal hipper come 2014. Hospitality and real estate development company SBE announced this week that it has secured $300 million to turn the Sahara from a dark shell with a roller coaster attached to a shiny new SLS Las Vegas. The high-end hotel brand already has locations in Beverly Hills and South Beach, and the Vegas version—designed by Philippe Starck—will include the Bazaar restaurant by José Andrés and a reboot of SBE’s original nightlife concept, Shelter. Looks like the party is moving north.
And of course, life is better by the beach. Tao Beach celebrates its 2012 grand opening this weekend with back-to-back poolside parties. On Saturday, Q-Tip and Samantha Ronson take the decks for a pair of DJ sets, and on Sunday, Erick Morillo spins for the inaugural Subliminal Sessions beach party. Entry is $30 for men, $20 for women. Ogling the cutie in the cabana next door? Absolutely free.
