A few features we’d like to see at the proposed UNLV sports center

Renderings of the proposed project.
UNLV is one step closer to possibly getting its own 60,000-seat domed stadium after the Clark County Commission unanimously approved an agreement with the university regarding county property UNLV needs in order to develop such a center. Mind you, this is far from a done deal—UNLV still has to obtain financing and university system approvals—but so what? We’re nothing if not proactive here at the Weekly. We asked our staff to compile a “wish list” of things they want to see at this new stadium, and here are a few of the highlights:
“Sufficient space between rows ... I don’t want crotches and butts in my face.”
“Banger Brewing, Joseph James and Tenaya Creek on tap.”
“Free Parking.”
“Great views no matter where you’re sitting.”
“Jumbotron.”
“A pool like the one at Chase Field.”
“A designated spot for local food trucks in the parking lot, so I can buy food that I actually want to eat.”
“Free WiFi.”
“Some place to hang out after the game, so you can sit for a while and party to avoid the mass-exodus hassle of getting out of the parking lot.”
