Shades of gray: The Palms’ Night of the Killer Costumes offers big bucks for the best ones.
Mikey McNulty, N9NE Group
Chainsaw Massacre at Surrender Surrender opens its doors Thursday night to give out some serious cash for costumery—$10K, to be exact. In the booth: DJ R3HAB. October 25, doors at 10:30 p.m., $40 men, $30 women, locals and industry free.
Night of the Killer Costumes at the Palms The hotel’s venues put on costume contests throughout the week, but the money night is definitely Saturday, and not just because the winners get $15K. It’s also one more chance to experience Rain, the veteran, EDM-friendly nightspot that closes its doors that night (until its final NYE bash). October 26-30, door times and cover charges vary, see Club Grid for more details.
Heaven & Hell at Señor Frog’s The two-story party bar puts on two very differently themed parties this weekend and Halloween night. (Can you guess which will happen downstairs?) The drinks will match the parties, and $5K in cash and prizes goes to the nights’ best costumes. October 26-27 & 31, free entry.
Halloween Bourbon Bash at The Bourbon Room The Rock of Ages-inspired bar fittingly presents an ’80s-themed Halloween party, so think hair/glam metal when deciding what to wear. Bourbon Room will make it worth your while, too, as partygoers in ’80s attire receive a free shot upon entry. Or, in true rock-star fashion, you could also go for the $35 wristband and get unlimited wells, house wines and domestic beers (from 8 to 10 p.m.). October 27, 8 p.m., free entry.
Pink Halloween Party at Rí Rá The Pink Panther. A flamingo. The prom queen. Honey Boo Boo Child. You’re restricted in color at this Pinktober party, but the costume possibilities still seem endless. Pink boas ($10) and Pink Jameson Rose cocktails ($8) will be sold, with proceeds benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Partygoers can come early to join Angel Porrino of Peepshow for a celebratory toast at 5:45 p.m. (with the entire cast invited back after the show). October 27, 9 p.m., free entry.
Maxim’s Halloween Party at Lavo The popular men’s magazine throws a Halloween bash at the Palazzo nightspot, with Kid Rock serving as master of ceremonies. A “sexy little devil” costume contest completes the Saturday soiree, and the winner takes home $1K, a signed Kid Rock guitar and a year of Maxim—and a personal photo on maxim.com. October 27, doors at 10:30 p.m., $20, local ladies free.
Superheroes and Villains Halloween Party at Insert Coin(s) Break out the spandex! The videobar/gamelounge encourages you to choose between good and evil Sunday night, so study up on your comic book and video game favorites and suit up! Then kick some major butt ... on the X-Men arcade game, of course. October 28, doors at 9 p.m., free entry.
Goretorium at Hyde Haunted house horror meets Vegas nightclub chic Tuesday, as ghouls from the Strip’s latest haunt host the Bellagio nightspot’s All Hallow’s Eve bash. Expect a scare when you least expect it, plus beats by the EC Twins at the special edition of the club’s Lost Angels industry night. October 30, doors at 10 p.m., $30 men, $20 women.
Sky Blu at Pure The LMFAOer brings a “Superheroes and Villains” edition of his Who Came to Party?! event to the Caesars club Tuesday night. Party Rock plus action heroes? Color us curious. October 30, doors at 10 p.m., $30 men, $20 women, locals free.
Night of Masks at Bagatelle The self-proclaimed “originators of the champagne brunch” kick off their Vegas venture with supper club and nightlife operations on Halloween night. Mask yourselves and enjoy a sneak peek at the Strip’s newest nightlife destination. Bragging rights, people. October 31, 5 p.m., nightclub doors at 10 p.m.
Cowboys vs. Zombies Halloween Party at Gilley’s This party’s theme sounds more like a horror movie Mystery Science Theater might consider—need we say more? For good measure, the event also includes some thrifty drink specials, live music (by Gilley’s regular Ryan Whyte Maloney), costume and costumed bull-riding contests and a “Thriller” dance-off. Get your MJ moves ready! October 31, 8 p.m.
Monster Mash Bash at Beauty Bar Spend Halloween night at the Fremont East watering hole and enjoy $3 Pumpkin Pie shots, a live set from local band Red Eye Radio and beats by DJs Xander Xero, Know Well and more. Don’t forget that costume, as the evening’s contest winner receives a $50 bar tab. Do you know how many Pumpkin Pie shots that can buy? October 31, 9 p.m., free entry.
