Election Day is near. Head to T-bones Chophouse & Lounge and get in the spirit with Pomme & Circumstance ($12), a scrumptious classic-style cocktail created by Tony Abou-Ganim.

The star ingredient in what Tony describes as “a little taste of fall in a glass” is Laird’s Applejack. The cider spirit has been a favorite of presidents for centuries: George Washington requested the Laird family to supply Applejack for Revolutionary War troops; Lincoln served it at his Illinois tavern; and some say free-flowing Applejack was the tipping point for William Henry Harrison to win the election of 1841. Over a hundred years later, Lyndon Johnson presented a case to Alexei Kosygin before negotiating better U.S.-Soviet relations. No matter who you vote for, with the Pomme & Circumstance, we all have a reason to party.
