“Batman Live” media day at the Thomas & Mack Center on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012.
Holy set design and costumes, Batman! The $15 million “Batman Live” World Arena Tour stops at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center from Oct. 3-7, and media received a sneak peek at the larger-than-life production Friday afternoon.
Who cares about the storyline (and D.C. Comics fans know the story of Batman anyway) when the production looks this over-the-top (ka-pow!) spectacular and in line with the big-budget Hollywood blockbusters starring Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale, Chris O’Donnell, Michelle Pfeiffer, Anne Hathaway, Oscar winner Heath Ledger as the Joker, Jack Nicholson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Uma Thurman, Tommy Lee Jones Jim Carrey and many more.
Thanks to contributing photographer Tom Donoghue for his fantastic photo gallery of the dress rehearsal. Donoghue reports that after one year of 160 performances in Europe, “Batman Live” arrives in the U.S. The show opens in Anaheim, Calif., on Wednesday.
Sam Heughan portrays the hero with the ridiculously buff and hot physique, and Emma Clifford is his purr-fect arch-nemesis Catwoman. Check back later this week for a report from the media sneak peek by Andrea Domanick and another photo gallery by Leila Navidi.
