In other Top Chef and Vegas-related news today, MGM Resorts International announced Tom Colicchio, star of the popular Bravo cooking competition show and commander of a restaurant empire that includes Craftsteak and 'Wichcraft at MGM Grand, will open a new steakhouse at the Mirage next summer.

Taking over the space currently occupied by Kokomo's, Colicchio's new 250-seater will "focus on meats prepared entirely over an open flame—from wood-burning ovens to charcoal grills," according to a press release. Bentel+Bentel will be designing the space. Kokomo's will close in early 2013 to make way for the new project, so it's too early to start drooling.
