Expect entertainment. Revelry. Some loosely structured debauchery, even. And one soaring, if unscripted, night in Las Vegas.
The Unscripted experience is a night free of rules and full of music, comedy, magic, maybe some hypnosis and stand-up performance. Juggling and unicycle riding cannot be ruled out, as some of the top entertainers in Vegas will convene on the Tropicana’s Havana Room December 18 to mark the 15th anniversary of Las Vegas Weekly.
If you are hip to Stifler, this is Stifler. The first two such events took place last year at the Lounge at the Palms, with Frankie Moreno and his band from the Stratosphere as the core ensemble and anyone in the room invited to perform.
At past Stifler parties, performers like Joey Fatone, Taylor Hicks, Michael Grimm, Pantera drummer Vinnie Paul, Melody Sweets from Absinthe, Carrot Top and even Brad Garrett have been in the room or onstage. For this show, those on the invite list include the crew mentioned above, as well as a cavalcade of celebs from nearly every medium: Orel Hershiser, Holly Madison, Vince Neil, Clint Holmes and Kelly Clinton Holmes, Mo5aic, Mac King, Guns N’ Roses guitarist DJ Ashba, Claire Sinclair, Jeff Civillico, Bill Champlin (who wrote “Turn Your Love Around” and was long a member of Chicago), celebrity chef Rick Moonen and pop artist Michael Godard. Also, cast members from Jersey Boys, Rock of Ages, Million Dollar Quartet, Raiding the Rock Vault and Blue Man Group are all on that “yeah, we’ll be there” list.
And as well as honoring the Weekly, the night will benefit the Foundation to Assist Young Musicians (FAYM), a local charity that does just that. So get on the list to join us now, as the room will fill and the show will be one for the ages. It always is.
Las Vegas Weekly Unscripted December 18, 10 p.m., $10 with RSVP, $20 at the door. Tropicana, RSVP here.
