Michael Phelps announces his upcoming Vegas DJ residency. Not really.

Vegas-loving swimmer Michael Phelps appears to be enjoying his retirement. The most decorated Olympian of all time took a whirlwind tour of nightlife spots over the weekend, hopping in the DJ booth at 1 OAK with DJ Que Thursday night, then joining the family and friends preview of new Palms sports lounge Heraea on Friday. Saturday featured a party double-header, with Phelps hitting GBDC before heading to Hyde, where he stepped into the DJ booth yet again. Let’s just get this guy a residency, already.
Also spotted on the Strip last weekend: Jenny McCarthy. The former Singled Out co-host (and Melissa McCarthy’s cousin) was seen at Haze Saturday night, partying with some girlfriends, dancing and showing off a surprisingly good Ace Hood impersonation.
It’s earned the Phelps seal of approval, so it’s worth noting that Heraea hosts its grand opening Sunday night. The restaurant and sports lounge “where girls go to play” combines serious dining with a high-end sports bar and will soon have entertainment late into the night with live music, DJs and more.
And Rockhouse is already shaking up its routine at the Venetian. The dive bar is hopping on the speakeasy trend, giving free entrance (and discounted drinks) with a special password posted to social media. (Locals, of course, are free.) On February 20, Rockhouse will also launch a weekly beer pong tournament from 7 p.m. to close, with drink and food specials. Read more about the new-again dive on Page 28.
