Mr. Lucky’s (Hard Rock Hotel, 693-5000) Remember when ordering the off-menu steak and shrimp special at Mr. Lucky’s was a thing? This favorite is bigger and better than before, including the menu. Now, tuna tacos, cinnamon roll French toast, chicken fried steak and brick oven pizzas contribute to the deliciously difficult decision-making process.

Cafe Cortez—Downtown personified.

Café Cortez (El Cortez, 385-5200) The 24-hour casino coffee shop is something of a lost art. Your best bet for old-school satisfaction might be Downtown. Count on the El Cortez to keep things just the way you want them, including solid breakfasts, burgers and matzoh ball soup, prime rib for 12 bucks, and a late-night Chinese menu that seems a perfect fit for those who would imbibe on Fremont East.

Grand Cafe—It's everywhere.

Grand Cafe (seven locations) You’ve got to give credit to Station Casinos: After an unsuccessful experiment installing chain diners in some of its neighborhood casinos, the company transitioned back to its steady, simple Grand Cafes. You wouldn’t think Palace Station’s coffee shop would be as good as the one at Green Valley Ranch, but the food is pretty consistent, and fast, smiling service goes a long way.
