In Las Vegas, December 31 means epic traffic jams, throngs of drunken revelers and celebrities who flock to the Strip to take home monster paychecks for playing a few songs, strutting a red carpet or getting on the mic to yell, “Happy New Year, Las Vegas” when the clock strikes 12.

But getting paid to party isn’t all free champagne and obliging hosts (okay, maybe it is); there’s also the issue of the perfect New Year’s outfit. When the stars hit the Strip on New Year’s weekend, they come dressed to thrill. And from barely there frocks (the newly pregnant Kim Kardashian) to leather underwear (British singer Neon Hitch), this year was no different. Nicki Minaj did her best imitation of a champagne glass at Pure. Common doubled up on the denim at Hyde. Cee Lo sported studs at Chateau and Brandy brought a chic ensemble—and fiancé Ryan Press—to Lavo. And that’s just the tip of the style iceberg. Aussie hip-hopper Iggy Azalea looked sleek in form-fitting purple at Moon; Aloe Blaac went dapper at Book & Stage; and Anthony Kiedis and Flea ditched their shirts to perform in classic Red Hot Chili Pepper style at the Chelsea.
