I’m not sure which pageant started it, but there seems to be a new tradition of consoling the contestants that don’t make the semifinals with doughnuts or other sweets. And so it was at the Miss America Pageant at Planet Hollywood last weekend. State winners who have been watching their diets for months seemed to appreciate the snack as the finalists competed for sash and crown.
