Mastro’s Las Vegas-inspired cocktail is a best-seller. Surprised?

The Crystals restaurant sells 19,000 Dream Berry cocktails per year.

Cocktails will come and go, but it takes a truly exceptional cocktail to be No. 1 in a restaurant’s beverage program year after year. Mastro’s collection of restaurants offers more than 30 options on the featured cocktail menu, and of the 100,000 alcoholic libations they sell a year, roughly 19,000 are the Dream Berry ($18). Simple math would tell you it’s probably here to stay.

What inspired this drink, which sells at nine restaurants across four states? Las Vegas, of course. The Dream Berry was created late one night three years ago at Mastro’s Ocean Club at Crystals at CityCenter by Robbi Jo Oliver, director of wine and spirits. “I wanted to create a drink that you could sip before dinner and not be so full that you couldn’t still enjoy a steak or seafood after,” she says. Cheers to that, and we’ll have another.
