Fun runs that are actually fun

The Bubble Run is set for March 29 on Fremont Street.

Bubble Run Who doesn’t love bubbles? Get soaped up during this 5K, where foam bogs spray runners with colored suds until everyone is covered from head to toe in the frothy stuff. March 29, 900 S. Fremont St., $30-$40, bubblerun.com.

DJs for PJs Pajama 5K Dread your morning run? Roll out of bed and join other runners and walkers in their pajamas for this sleepy fun run—and bring an extra pair of jammies to donate to children in need. April 19, Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex, djsforpjs.org/5k.

Superhero 5K to Fight Addiction It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s … a bunch of runners dressed as Superman? Whether you don a cape or whip up your best superhero costume, celebrate National Superheroes Day dressed as your favorite vigilante for this run sponsored by the Solutions Foundation, a nonprofit for substance abuse awareness. April 26, Bruce Trent Park, $25-$35.

Vegas Beer Run If you can’t hold your brew, the competitive portion of this race probably isn’t for you. Don’t worry, the run begins with a pep rally (and beer), followed by a competitive race and slower-paced beer run through a course with hydration and (more) beer stations. May 31, $30, 215 W. Beltway Trail, vegasbeerrun.com.

Foam Glow 5K You’ve walked under neon lights, now how about black lights? Wear white to this fun run and sprint through designated foamy glow zones, where you’ll be sprayed in (non-toxic) black light-active suds from start to finish. May 31, $20-$30, Sam Boyd Stadium, foamglow.com.

Blonds Have More Fun 5K Dress up as your favorite blond—Marilyn Monroe, Madonna, Britney Spears, Ellen—or just wear a wig for this blond 5K run and walk that promises “treats” to be had at every mile marker. May 31, $40-$45, Fremont St., jusrun.com/races/blondshavemorefun.

Run or Dye You’ve probably seen the photos on your Facebook feed—friends covered in powdered, colorful dye. Now it’s your turn. Come as a blank canvas and cross the finish line in Technicolor, after being blasted with rainbow dust at various checkpoints throughout the course. September 20, Downtown Las Vegas, $42-$57, runordye.com.
