If you’ve ever been sent to the back of a nightclub line, if you’ve ever been rejected for your shoes, shirt or the gender makeup of your group, if you’ve ever cursed the suited gatekeepers at the door and swore you’d never go clubbing again, well, this one’s for you.
And if you’re a self-proclaimed club kid with a host at every hot spot on the Strip, yup, this one’s for you, too.
On December 9 the Vegas Nightlife Fights are returning to the Joint, with industry hosts and bartenders lacing up their gloves and stepping into the ring to battle at this benefit for Barry’s Boxing Center, a nonprofit dedicated to encouraging young men and women to pursue boxing. The main event will pit Body English host Dion Niemo against Ken Norton Jr., son of the former heavyweight champion and former linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers. Other bouts include staffers from around the Valley who’ve been training at local gyms to prepare for their night under the lights, including Angel Management Group Marketing Director Sal Wise who will take on Spearmint Rhino bartender Mark Alum. For those not boxing, the booze will be flowing, as friends and competitors cheer each other on in the name of charity. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and, of course, bottle service is available—these are the Nightlife Fights, after all.
