Christophe Bonnegrace, who cooked at Bleu Gourmet, has opened a tapas bar on the city’s far Westside, specializing in Spanish, French and other Mediterranean dishes. Start with the Serrano ham and Manchego cheese plate, and don’t miss the chunky Mallorcan soup, or a delicious pile of bacon wrapped figs.

We first dined at this tapas restaurant last December and really enjoyed the experience. We ordered a total of 5 dishes and asked the waiter to space them out appropriately. Our first dishes were albondigas, meatballs in a spicy tomato sauce (2.5 Forks), and shrimp ajillo, shrimp marinated in garlic & olive oil and then sauteed in white wine with parsley (4 Forks). We were next served bacon wrapped figs (4 Forks) and papas bravas (roasted and sauteed potatoes served with a spicy sauce (3.5 Forks). After a long wait I reminded our server that we had one more order to come. Our last tapa was fried calamari with a very spicy sauce. The calamari were lightly breaded and very tender. Discounted gift certificates available at restaurant.com.
