Fremont Hotel & Casino
Fremont Hotel & Casino is most notable for its colorful entrance and central downtown location in the Fremont Street Experience at the northwest corner of the intersection of Fremont and Casino Center Boulevard. The hotel opened in 1956 and was the city's first high-rise hotel. It was expanded in 1963 to 14 stories and now features 447 guest rooms and suites. Entertainer Wayne Newton got his start in the casino's lounge in 1959.
The 32,000-square-foot casino features slot, video poker and keno machines, live keno, craps, table games and a race and sports book.
Dining options include Second Street Grill, for a blend of American and Pacific Rim cuisine; Paradise Buffet & Cafe, featuring eight stations of international cuisine, and Tony Roma's, for something familiar, plus several places to grab a quick bite.
