John Kan’s fringe-of-Chinatown haunt caters both to gweilo, a rather crude Chinese term for foreigners, and local Chinese, who come to order mouth-watering specials advertised on the wall in Chinese. The no-nonsense décor belies excellent cooking; pork hock with jellyfish and duck soup. It’s hard to lose here.
