Pho, pronounced "fuh," is the foodie's Holy Grail of soups, a beefy, Vietnamese, rice-noodle soup eaten with a variety of condiments. But this comely restaurant has more to offer, including live fish and no-holds-barred Chinese food. Try minced squab with crystal lettuce; the reedy green vegetable ong choy; or a whole steamed red cod, redolent of ginger and green onion.

Ms. Westie ordered bun tom thit nuong, also known as old #43 - charbroiled shrimp & egg roll with rice vermicelli served cold. I ordered pho tai, #10 -- rare steak noodle soup with basil, sprouts and lime. I requested the steak on the side and cranked up the spice level through a liberal application of hot chili sauce. I shudder to think of the battle taking place in my stomach that night having consumed Indian for lunch and pho for dinner though I slept like a baby. 4 out of 5 Forks.
