Hmmm, your boyfriend is sad? I won't even begin to throw rocks in this house, but maybe it's because his sexy, young girlfriend is out taking off her clothes and shaking her booty for some middle-aged strangers? Sorry, call me old-fashioned, but that would make me somewhat melancholy myself.
Hey, it's your life, your body, your self-esteem, and your decision as to what you do with those items. But a beau does introduce some interesting dynamics. Just a man's perspective, but if he has no issues with what you do, than I would have to question his authenticity and his motives.
Again, just my experience, but when it comes to stripping, it's not something that can be done half-heartedly. If you're not having fun, (or at least being a very good actress about it), than we won't be having fun either. No fun, no money.
Sounds like your heart isn't in it anymore. Once your head catches up to your heart, make the move and be done with this. Regardless of what you decide, know that we're all with you .........
Happy Halloween, Justice.
Is Evanescence considered "Goth" music? Just wondering if we had any other common interests?
Excellent decision and one that's been a long time coming. Buy yourself a paper tomorrow and check out the classifieds.
I'm coming out there in a couple weeks for one of my bi-annual mancations and I best NOT see your shapely little moneymaker (or whatever it looks like) up on that stage.
Well done!
Sweet Justice:
Frankly, I'm surprised to still see you here blogging away. I've said it before, I'll say it again: You are not the "stripper" type. You can read it in your choice of words, your observations, your insight, and your empathy. Moreover, you are obviously a VERY bright girl.
Your most recent blog only highlights and reinforces the "writing on the wall", if you will. Sounds like Vegas is swinging the pendulum over to the "family oriented" side again. Guess the Sin City (what goes in Vegas .......) theme hasn't worked out as well as they would have liked.
Is the LVDA even still in existence? Didn't they work to prevent all these types of stupid rules, unfair labor practices, illegal fees, and discriminatory practices from the LVPD? Without them, you've only got your own brains and feet to help you out. The brains will hopefully see that you've got so many other opportunities in your life other than stripping, and the legs will help you walk out the door.
Yes, the money is enticing. I know the feeling. You make in a one 30 minute lap dance special what minimum wage earners make in a day and a half. Hard to beat. Yes, you've got your youth, and I've got to assume you've got your looks. Both of those commodities will not stay with you forever. Then what?
If they keep saddling you girls with ever-increasingly difficult "rules" to make a buck, maybe it's time for a change of pace? Can't hurt to try something else - if you don't like it, trust me, you can always go back. Us guys will stay be there trying to get the most bang for our buck.
Be well and be happy.
Justice, sweet Justice. I continue to contend that it's not in your cards to be a stripper. And I'm not talking about your looks as I'm sure you're attractive enough. I'm talking about your moral fiber. Your outlook on what's right and wrong. In the stripping business, "nice" girls finish last, well maybe not last, but definitely not as financially secure as the other girls. And you, my dear, are a nice girl.
Put lipstick on a pig and it's still a pig. How "clean" can you make a strip club? In the end, after you set up all your security, your no-touch rules, your 4-foot distance rules, your absence of VIP and Lap Dance rooms, etc - what have you got left? A night club? A watering hole with scenery? A sports club with half-naked women walking around asking for money for what? Looking pretty? Whatever it is, it certainly won't be a "strip" club anymore.
It's like trying to clean mud. Just can't be done. Either a strip club is a strip club, or it's not. It's like being half pregnant. Just can't do it - the old having your cake and eating it too problem. It's awfully nice having guys handing you twenties and fifties all night but that ain't gonna happen if all you give in response is sweet conversation and a hint of cleavage.
Take it from someone who enjoys strip clubs A LOT. (And probably not for the reasons you think) When a lady gives me a "good" lap dance, I pay her for the dance, AND I tip her handsomely. I know she has better things to do on a Friday night than bump and grind on strangers. So I make sure she knows I appreciate her work and yes, her looks.
But to the gals that want to sit and chat, let me buy them $10 drinks, and then be paid for their "time" - nope, don't think so. I can do that in any night club or sports bar.
Which is what makes strip clubs UNIQUE. They ARE different than other clubs. Cleaning them up so they emulate other clubs will just dilute their mystique and attraction. Yes, they offer women like you the allure of big bucks, but to attain that reward, sometimes you've got to sleep with the devil.
Have a great weekend!
Sweet Justice:
After 25 years of frequenting strip clubs, I can assure you that your hair is not what we're looking at.
Hey Justice, long time reader, first time commentor. Obviously, you're leaving a bunch of money on the proverbial dance floor. But when the first morning rays of light brighten up your bedroom, it's you that you've got to face in the mirror. No one else.
With your strong belief and value system, I might even question your choice in career fields? I would think you're attractive with great communication and people skills. Keeping that in mind, I would opine that you could make about what you make now working as a waitress/bartender in a fine upscale restaurant.
Like most consumers, when in a strip club, I look for someone who I find attractive, and I look for value for my money. Most men can't afford to spend hundreds, much less thousands, in a club, so they look for the best bang for their buck. (Pun intended.)
I always chuckle when I see table dances where the lady keeps her distance from the customer. My point being what's the difference between that type of dance and just watching the dancer while it's her turn on stage? In many cases, none, other than the much larger amount of money you pay for the "table" dance.
I certainly don't blame you for not wanting to get "down and dirty" with your guests, and it sounds like you're totally cognizant of the fact that you're willingly letting some money slip through your fingers.
But there is no question - an attractive dancer who has learned the art of giving a titilating lap dance, can have a literal list of prospective customers that can keep her busy for hours on end.
Good for you for sticking to your morals with those of us who have none. Happy Birthday!
That's hilarious! Do you have any pictures? I'm surprised that traveling sideshow didn't make the USA Today.
Being a responsible law-abiding citizen, I also must admit that I'd be one of those distracted drivers, and God forbid, an accident did occur, Lord only knows where that pole would end up?
Only in Vegas .........
