After such a great review, I brought my family here last night for my birthday. We didn't have a good experience. We did see the "cute, 5-year-old daughter, Sophia". She was sitting at the bar watching Cartoon Network at full volume on the big screen TV. This was very unpleasant to have on while we were eating.
The waitress didn't care or take note that it was my birthday. Service was very slow but she eventually brought foccacia, which was pretty good, but it wasn't replaced when empty. We started with a few appetizers and a few salads since they were 1/2 off for happy hour.
The ensalata rustica that Max Jacobson recommends was very strange. Large slabs of mozzarella, some thickly cut ordinary red onions and tomatoes, and some mint leaves and canned mandarin oranges. The salmon salad was left uneaten because the spinach tasted dirty.
The other dishes were equally unimpressive. We decided to leave without trying the entrees. We were shocked that the meal was still $50 at half price. What a rip off!
