I dunno, "Buffalo" aside, I'm not hating it as much as I expected to. Then again, I had no expectations, so ...
Dave202: Everyone should care. This is no mud-slinging -- the Weekly was very fair in its reporting. It could have been snarky and accusatory like some other local rags, but it wasn't.
This story serves a larger purpose: A cautionary tale to those who are or who have done business with companies such as What's On, and as someone who's been yanked around by numerous Vegas-based publishers at one time or another (though none as egregious as What's On), it happens more often than you'd think.
But in the Weekly's defense, I've never failed to receive a paycheck from them on time in five years of writing for the paper. Same goes for their major competitor, the fine folks at Stephens Media Group. They have skeletons, sure, but they're those glow-in-the-dark kind you buy during Halloween. :)
Nice, Deanna, nice.
Though I did hit this almost a month ago: http://www.vegasinsight.net/?p=414
I know, it's hard to keep up, I'm like Speedy Gonalez all up in here. ;)
