Wowee! A dancer's nighmare, second to a guy getting away with things physically and a bouncer not coming to your rescue - only happened to me once - in a very prestigious club.
Anyways, the whole theory of getting our money up front and the agreed amound must be within the limits of the law and so on and so forth. By golly we really don't have much protection without an "alliance" or a "union" and it is getting really bad. Since so many people are coming here and all other tourist cities with the idea of "everything is negotiable", and the variable variety of "entertainers" willing to comprimise, the cut throat makes it possible for customers to exploit us as well as some of the "entertainers" to muscle so many of the men. I, and I know you have seen the same group, muscle, threaten, and intimidate a man into forking up several hundred for nada. It's a bit freaky in the industry. As much as I am happy the "law" has laid off of us, another form of exploitation for fines, I feel we have no recourse for the abuse of our work priveledges as well. So, thanks for the mutual vent and sharing about the hours wasted on men like that pig so that not everyone thinks we are rich and our money comes so freely. PS - I just re read your cognitive dissonance writing and that is my favorite term in life - I think that is because that is who I am in so many areas, hence, I am excellent at what I do when my mind is focused!

Dispute or be killed by the wife is a probable scenario. And a drunk guy with a need to fortify his ego is also probable. This is not a unique scenario altoghether. I just wish he had been my customer. I've only had one like that, two years ago, and I paid the other half of my new car off after him. This is Vegas, and at some gal, in some club, will make $4000 in a single night every night. We just go to work hoping it will be us. We try to increase the odds by going in more often, to more clubs, with more energy, along with ever other gal trying to do the same. All the while, there are less men, with less money, while everyone whines about the economy. Tough out there. As far as a signature, most, if not all, clubs are taking two signatures, a copy of the DL, and a thumbprint or two. This is supposed to alleviate the possiblity of a dispute. Typically the credit card company will reimburse the customer but nothing happens to the club - unless scams have been proven.
Oh my, oh my, oh my. WE COUNT on you coming in and falling in love. I had a customer for 7 years and thought my being mostly honest with him was enough to keep him from getting hurt, or it was so that I could alleviate my own guilt. Nonetheless, I told him I was releasing him and never wanted to see him again because his feelings for me were keeping him from finding true love. Now I am so straight up - "I only fall in love by the hour"! I get much more respect, in that sense, but I don't have any regulars. LOL (They're so much work anyways)
Well, hello Justice. I've finally registered so I may comment.
That was such an honest insightful look at the true professionalism we must have to endure such "dirty old men". And they love to be called just that for they don't like to waste time. I'm identified. They're identified. Game is on. However, because of their lack of candidness, they are a bit overzealous in my experience.
So, your writing is more than fabulous. We share a same profession and I am positive, a few particular environments, and many of the same perspectives. I read your blog weekly (and I don't read often). I love it. You speak from the "erotic entertainer's" soul. Thank you. Keep up the great writing. And kudos to your editors.
Wow. This does stink. It's been almost exactly a year to the day for this rise in police activity. However, I do believe that last year's bombardment was due to the "thefts" that were taking place. Mbeckman, not nice, my friend. Sadly, they are just doing their jobs which is enforcing the "law", however our problem lay in the fact that the law is written rediculously and the gals in the industry have zero recourse. The unsuccessful attempts at a "stripper alliance" or "union" were thwarted and I assume any attempt to organize this class of highly unorganized woman would fail again. The law needs to be rewritten. Speaking of the specifics, who has a copy of them? Nobody in any club has been able to produce them, therefore, even when bouncers are trying to enforce them, everyone has different guidelines. So, as a result, the general ticketed or jailed or scared stripper is going "balls to the wall" to make the money since anything even the cleanest stripper does is "illegal". I am so sorry Justice as I have watched your journey and am now POSITIVE I know you. I HATE that this has happened to the best of the best as well as most of the rest. You don't deserve the stress!
