Are you f-ing serious?!?!? Sorry, I'm not giving that d-bag any more props than he seriously doesn't deserve. Tons of great DJ that are local that probably have a way better music selection and can mix 100 times better. People that have paid their dues playing the *weak* underground circuit of Sin City... And this is how they get their respect. It seriously knocks dj'ing down a few pegs when s--t like this happens.
Good read on the Rox/Epic/??? article. Laugh, but maybe the goth scene could use it as a venue. They've been in need of a place to call home for awhile. My personal opinion is that they had the wrong promotions on in. Other than Facebook, I saw nothing about Epic. I went once, and it seemed like a decent venue but the drinks were expensive and the cover was outrageous (for a "house night" with dj's even I haven't heard of. I can totally see that place becoming the next "Red Room Saloon" or Double Down. A place that locals can come to. But they (the owners) need to reformulate. They need to quit trying to compete with the major clubs and forge their own identity. Now, it has a "space available" sign up so who knows. Maybe somebody might come in and work that place good. Maybe.
I agree samba1... It's not hate. It's about representing something good. Which he clearly isn't. Just some no talent joker on an MTV "reality" show getting his 15 minutes of fame. As a veteran to the music industry and the world of dj'ing, I find it rather disgusting to see this kind of thing. Just as I found it disgusting to watch Perry Ferrell make the attempt to be a headlining dj a couple years ago (whom I find a talented musician, just horrible dj).
