You've missed the point completely. Revealing my name is irrelevant. What is relevant Sir, is posting your opinions about the subject or my opinion of it. Let's try to stay focused and elevate the discussion rather than make things juvenile. The weekly certainly needs that and all it can get. Respect to all the real underground house soldiers! P.S. who said I was a man. LOL
I seriously doubt that any of those wanna be DJ jocks play underground house or electro. In fact I know they don't. Deanna, please stop using underground house as a catch all phrase for dance music. I suggest you attend Sound Bar @ Ghost Bar July 30 and pay attention to JT Donaldson for a music lesson in underground house music. I just can't let the phrase "underground house" be slandered or even mentioned in the same paragraph with those crap DJs. Have a nice day!!
I've had a chance to hear Andy play records and have never been disappointed. He spins great underground disco that didn't get airplay even back in the 70's. He doesn't play the likes of The Village People or your typical radio disco that the musically ignorant cherish and love so much. No, he plays music that you can only get on real vinyl and could only hear at underground clubs like Better Days and Paradise Garage in cities of culture such as NYC. So, it's no wonder then that the progressive trance DJ Tostada (Tiesto) worshipers at Godskitchen didn't groove to his set. It's music for the discerning not the mindless shiny shirts and t backs that fill those floors. In short I agree with the writer on one point, it was a mistake to bring such a tasteful Dj to Las Vegas, but maybe it's time to hand out some pink slips in upper management there while Andy laughs in his first class seat headed home. I think the Hercules and Love Affair album is phenomenal and I suggest that you run out to your nearest Itunes portal and make up your own mind.
P.S. to the writer of this article. "The only thing I was fit for was to be a writer, and this notion rested solely on my suspicion that I would never be fit for real work, and that writing didn't require any."
I can assure you that the clowns in the photo above do not play house music and that the "house hungry" who live or visit this deserted land of quality dance music will have to keep starving. The Picture above is worth a thousand words and those of you who know the sounds of real house music, also know that these two MTV - Mcdonald's commercial, look at me were cool, wanna be Dj's were picking their noses in Jr. high when you were listening to the beats of WBMX. As one real house soldier to another my point is don't waste your time. Save your money and make a trip to a city worthy of having a night with the words "house" on the flyer.
