Yes, real actors, people who CAN act (and there aren't that many of those) will always do a better job of showing emotion than a bank of computers.
That said, when is the last time you've seen a live production versus a movie? Movies, and those with big bangs, make a lot of money. Cameron made a big popcorn movie that was a pretty fascinating piece of technology and make believe research, if not classic storytelling, and Jeter berates it because it doesn't move his soul.
Once again, so what?
Don't like the plot? Fine. Hate the graphics? Fine.
But appreciate it - or not - for what it is, not what you snootily want it to be.
