You seem to forget the position of mayor in Las Vegas is fairly impotent. There is not a lot of power concentrated in the office, which is one of the reasons Jan Jones evacuated the position prior to Goodman's reign. Even if he wanted to impose fees on developers or advocate for K-16 schools, he had no power to make any of that happen without the cooperation of the majority of City Council. So he's done a good job with what he's got. And I'd like to see what he COULD do if he had some power, like that of governor.

OK, so Bette wasn't Ms. Las Vegas. But I didn't see you do a similar scathing review of the drivel Elton John uttered about Vegas. He was clearly disconnected during his Caesars performances, as opposed to his shows in other venues. Talk about take the money and run. If Bette didn't have time to devote to Vegas, so be it. She's a New Yorker and a Los Angelino. Grow up, Freiss.

Kind of catty for one magazine---particularly a competitor--to be criticizing another, don't you think? Who really cares except for you, the people who didn't get paid and your competition.

Be careful about throwing mud. I suspect that the Weekly has a few skeletons in the closet.....
