Like the Mayor said there really are no winners here. The owners of Econo Lodge have done a really terrific job on improvements, and on the way they manage their property. You never see any surly types lurking around the premises, it's a very clean operation. Econo Lodge is yet another piece of the continuing good changes downtown Las Vegas is seeing. BTW, purrin, the owner has the exact same rights he had when he first bought the property. Zoning laws are in place for a reason. The potential problem lies not with the current owner, but with the next owner. If there was a way for the city to grant a temporary 2 year SUP, I think Econo would run into little to no opposition. Unfortunately, city laws are not in place for such a thing. From what I understand, once an SUP passes, it is a permanent attachment to the property, with little to no chance of revocation. I hope business picks up for Econo Lodge. This is one of the nicest Econo Lodges you will ever find, they really have been a vast improvement to the area.
Yet another group of people that help make living in Downtown Las Vegas better all the time. It's a pleasure seeing these pimped out 2 wheeled rides cruising our streets. I'd love to see this group safely pedal the downtown pavement for years to come. Viva! Hammer & Cycle!
Welcome one and all to what is my favorite part of the valley. The new blood that is moving here is experiencing a lifestyle not found anywhere else in the Vegas area. The sense of community, the synergy, the genuine friendships, bike rides/short drives/public transportation to ever growing nightlife, concerts, festivals, farmers market, the arts district, and shopping, all culminate together to make Downtown Las Vegas the most interesting, entertaining, and (oddly enough) the most organic part of the valley. Downtown Las Vegas=Home.
Such a baby, the side street Park Paseo is less than 300 feet away. Let's see, is that a one minute or a two minute walk? Jeeeze!
Great quotes, great article. Love living downtown!
