Good podcast! I have to agree about "The Soloist". I liked this type of general plot line setup better in an interesting movie called "The Caveman's Valentine", or the great documentary "The Cats of Mirikitani"
I might still check out "Sin Nombre" at some point. Though I'm in no rush-- the cinematography does look good.
Keep the hate on high!
Not that it's going to win, but I was happy to see that "In Bruges" was nominated for best original screenplay. It's also nice that "Man On Wire" was nominated for best documentary.
I would liked to have seen Charlie Kaufman score a best director's nod for his "Synecdoche, New York", and was surprised that at no one from the cast of "Funny Games" (Tim Roth, Naomi Watts, Michael Pitt, Brady Corbet) was acknowledged.
To tell the truth though, there were a lot of stinkers this year, so I can't say I'm as disappointed in this year's Oscar nominations as some years in the past.
Did they play "Josie"? I always liked that song.
