AnnLeaGirl, I agree with you in that it would've come out cheaper if I had hired a prostitute considering that I've ended up traveling to Europe with a couple of "random" Vegas hookups, visited a couple in other parts of the world where they are from (yet I met them here), etc. But effort?? Not much - you'd be surprised what a white 6'4 blonde latino in Vegas can achieve with a hispanic accent in his pronunciation... Happier? You do the math.

And yeah... my comments are usually off base as I typically tend to read between the lines.

So I've always wondered how strippers refer to "customers" like myself - I've been to strip clubs on numerous occasions (bachelor parties, attempts to continue a mediocre club-hopping night, etc.); yet I've never bought/accepted a lap dance. I'm not sure why, but the thought of a girl acting interested in me only to obtain money really turns me off - especially in this city where getting all that stuff (and more) for free is so easy! Perhaps my negative attitude has been molded after the several times I've heard from exotic dancers: "You're from Chile? That's my favorite country!”, yet the odds that this nubile woman has never left the western US are overwhelming. Anyways, how "un-welcome" by dancers are specimens like myself at a strip club? I can't believe we are too annoying to them as those like me typically avoid any conversation and get bored about 30 minutes into it, point at which we end up leaving…

So I constantly find myself reading your blog - heck, I'll admit that you've even become part of my daily dodge-work, surf-the-net routine. But something strikes me as highly unusual - how the hell is your written English, well... perfect? We're both Hispanic, we've both been in the US for about the same amount of time, and though I like to consider my own writing skills pretty acceptable, your excellent use of the English language simply blows me away.
Am I being naive and not realizing that Las Vegas Weekly has highly skilled editors? or should we both thank UNLV?

Though I'm not a fan of paying $4.50 per gallon, I can't really complain either. The rest of the world pays 2X or even 3X more than that per gallon (or liter, whatever). Maybe we should all emigrate to Venezuela where gas is ridiculously cheap - at least one of Hugo's populist measures seems "sane."
