This is the normal result of the insanity of the gaming commission and the county commission in the middle of a recession.

Great going, guys. You have just make the whole recession that much deeper as visitors find it unable to find a reason to come to vegas for vacations.

Now that the legislature has used the current fiscal 'crisis' to increase the sales tax rate (which will never go down even when the 'crisis' is over of course), its time for us to evaulate ALL our expenses, with the idea of getting rid of the ones that really dont enrich our lives.

Everyone has at least 10% of really useless expenses that just dont cut it. Things that are simply being done because of intertia. Lets start with taxable things, like eating out.
1) Usually, food quantities at restaurants are too high for healthy living. How about ordering fewer entrees and sharing them? You definitely DONT need that dessert !! How about an appetizer and One entree for two people? The soda pop at $3 isnt really so attractive if you think about it. How about water at the restaurants, and the 20 cent cans of soda pop AT HOME.

2) Those trips to the AM/PM you can probably cut in half with a small degree of planning. Why buy bottled water there, when you can get it at costco for about 12 cents a bottle and just grab a couple of bottles before you head out in the car.

Now that the sales tax rate is up, we can wind up paying LESS total sales tax, plus save on direct expenditures. This will teach the government people that increasing the tax rates will REDUCE the tax take !!
