It’s not every day the state of Nevada celebrates its 150th birthday, and in honor of the big sesquicentennial on October 31, the state is simply asking for the standard celebratory traditions: cake, ice cream and a world record-setting sing-along.

Today at 10 a.m. Nevada is asking citizens all over the state to upload videos of themselves singing “a fun and boisterous rendition” of “Home Means Nevada” in an effort to set the record for most people in a U.S. state to sing their state song simultaneously.

But here’s the thing: Like Brandon Flowers and just about everyone else who lives here, we don’t actually know the words. So we asked the cast of Absinthe to help us out and teach us the lyrics with this truly excellent and totally inspirational dramatic reading.

Absinthe Wednesday-Sunday, 8 p.m. & 10 p.m., $99-$134. Caesars Palace, (800) 745-3000.
