Lawyer/author Franklin Levy

Las Vegas may often lack for literary muscle, but it has plenty of love for good design. Local lawyer and writer Franklin Levy has figured out a way to combine both. Levy studied law at Penn, practiced in Boston for 30 years and then took a job as counsel for Las Vegas Sands. At the same time he began to immerse himself into the intricacies of design—thanks to his wife, Lynda, who runs an interior design business. (The pair also founded a literary magazine on Nantucket Island.)

Add it all up and you get—what else?—a novel. In this case, Levy’s first, a Boston mystery called Die Decorator Die. Levy will talk about his career and inspirations at First Friday at the Las Vegas Design Center. His next book, we hear, will be partially set here.
