So nipple tape is off limits? Hey, Lady Gaga was doing burlesque rock in NYC clubs with Lady Starlight years ago. I can't say there wasn't any influence - art is always influenced by other art. D7 can join the club of acts and artists that say Gaga must have been influenced by them. Lady Gaga - to her credit - cites many inspirations. Let me ask - would D7 exist if it weren't for Madonna? Would Madonna have been Madonna if not for David Bowie (who Gaga credits) or Betty Page? If not for the Sargent Pepper's, would any alternative or arty pop exist in its current form?

I'm a HUGE D7 fan... not really into the Pop Music of Gaga. And no matter how she tries to mask it... she is just another Britney Spears..a Madonna Gaga will never be. Chuck I dont think D7 is saying Nipple Tape is off limits. if you visit their myspace they give credit to Wendy O Williams (the original nipple tape wearer) Bowie, Madonna, GG Alin,Iggy etc. I read all of D7's blogs. I have read their blogs about Gaga. I know when Ga ga first came out she was an American Apparel looking girl.. I also know that around the same time she was in talks with D7 her style seemed to change, mimic D7's. Granted Black eyebars and Nipple tape are no means the sole right of D7.. but when you have 6 male dancers on the tonight show in Black Suits and Black Fetish masks that look identical to the black suit and black fetish mask of their manager..you have to wonder. In fact the picture above of Lady Gaga holding a booking plaque is an exact bite of Deadly Seven's first pictures that were on their site when Gaga was talking to them. D7 are all about girl power.. they arent making a stink..and def arent trying to ride anyones coat tails.. if you are an artist just be creative. Create your own style...even if borrowed from other artist.. D7 did it.. and made it theirs.. its obvious Gaga bit D7's gimic.

D7 should copy Gaga by doing some music that people would actually listen to.

These chicks are an interchangable bunch of marginally musical girls who look good in fetish gear. They will be lucky if they have a future with a few shows a year at local venues and this article and their complaints about their "original" ideas being scammed on by Lady Gaga or anyone else is ridiculous. There is nothing original about these girls. They had a good idea about having a band that will draw a crowd because of the bare skin and fetish gear, it has been done before, many times. This whole complaint is just to get some attention which isn't a bad idea but it's just the way a band has to operate when the only thing going for it is image.

sounds like the poster D7sucks is a hater. Deadly Seven plays their own instruments. They started out as 7 singers.. who played marginally well.. their last show at Key Club in L.A that SOLD OUT had 4 of the members playing.. and they played a majority ALL ORIGINAL SET.. Pride has since parted ways with the group and started who own group called PRIDE and THE VANITIES. I saw her show at Wasted Space and she blew the Genitortures of the stage. She played ALL ORIGINAL MATERIAL and is very talented. People that hate on them usually are insecure with their own self image and hate on people who are better, hotter or more talented then them cause thats all they can do. I am sure Deadly Seven didnt ask for this article.. they blogged it on their blog and the above writer wrote about it. Who cares if they put out a cover album first. I like the songs. At least D7 is trying to do something new and exciting and interesting to watch. I dont go to look at semi naked girls. I go cause their shows are more hardcore than any Ive ever seen since GG ALIN. These girls are more punk rock than anyone. And for the person who said they should make music people would listen to like Lady Gaga. Well, I wish Lady Ga GA would do the same. This article was written well, April, but you should really do the research and write a follow up about how D-7 is a carefully constructed vehicle to try to launch the careers of a few women who have struck out everywhere else.

It's really just another pre-fabricated musical group looking to strike it big off of tattoo crazed sub-culture of vulgar attitudes and loud music, without any of the soul to make it respectable.

Here's a tip just to get you started, April. Find out Pride's real name and do some research into her acting and hosting portfolio. You'll see who she really is, a cardboard cut out, a vanilla girl who failed at her attempts to become an MTV on-air personality, went topless with some duct-tape and began pretending she ran the Vegas punk scene for years or something.

There is a reason that no one knew who Pride was in the Vegas music scene (or any music scene for that matter) prior to the careful construction of Deadly Seven.

It's all a big joke, really. It's just a shame that these women take themselves so seriously that they're unable to acknowledge the truth and continue to lie and deceive people who are obviously too naive to accept reality.

Everyone is crying over people they'll never meet, my God! The Deadly Seven was an amazing idea that ended up suffering because it became more about appearance and shock value than the actually work. Which is something Pride escalated too! She's an amazing person, that gives a 100 percent to anything she works on.

She's an entertainer ranging from a Rock Star to an actress, a very talented one at that. Seeing that people argue that she isn't anything because she isn't big! So what?! Look at ICP, Twiztid, VNV Nation, London After Midnight, :Wumpscut:, Esham, all are legit names that have a loyal fanbase. That create whatever they want without control, without the help of the mainstream. Like them Pride is a real person unlike those plastic shells in Hollywood, she appreciates her fans and most importantly, the work actually means something which something that most people can't even say.

Whew!!! There's a lot of hate in the room. NO-ONE in music just appears out of nowhere, unless it's on some bs TV talent show. So Pride actually DID things before D7? Gosh! She did things alright, and they were all connected with performing, which she has a God-given talent for. It's in her blood ( not the fake stuff, her actual blood ). My issues with D7 came about as I had heard about them, did just a smidgen of research, and watched some of the worst, most fake, poser facades I've seen attached to music since Avril Levigne. Idolizing Pride because she's failed at every other avenue of 'show biz' shows how out of touch you are, and exactly why none of you should have even the slightest thing to say about punk music. Not even in punk's most commercial form is it acceptable to use it as the last option possible in an attempt at notoriety, and there is no way possible that you can tell me that someone who has tried hosting 'vegas nightlife' interview shows, failed at a career at MTV, should be celebrated for being punk rock. She is exploiting it.

Spouting off about how these people are innovators of 'GIRL SHOCK ROCK' also shows how little you know about anything. Lyrically, this is a sad abortion of what real girl rock artists like Bikini Kill paved the way for, and as for the way they package it with the psuedo-bondage, ultra-violence stick, this is all a watered down version of what Digital Hardcore did over a decade ago, acts like Atari Teenage Riot and industrial acts like KMFDM already did so long ago and they did it without the careful hand of pre-fabricated hollywood washouts.

This is GWAR with boobs, and without any of the actual skill, intent, or talent... and the WORST part of it all is, not even GWAR in all of their costumes and gear take themselves as seriously as Pride does.

I think what is more bewildering about you and the rest of the 'fans' (who all, mind you, type with the same loose grasp on the english language that makes me wonder how many fans there really are) is that you think anyone should be jealous of Pride. What is there to be jealous about? Its not like Pride is rubbing shoulders with some music industry elite that I would be jealous of if I were some failed musician, or like she lives in some giant mansion in Hollywood that would make someone financially jealous... or any legitimate lyrical or acting talent. Look at any of her interviews and just sincerely admit she doesn't come off as a skill less actress playing a part.

I'm not the 'psycho stalker chick' nor am I affiliated. I'm a member of this community that is offended with how you, (and I mean the royal you) throw the word punk around in relation to this stage show and think you have any idea what you're talking about.

I'm a concerned member of the punk community that was going to see local bands like Uniblab at the Rainbow Library, the dastards at the USA Cafe on Sunset and GVP, the Happy Campers and a number of other bands at the OZone and the Castle, as well as countless shows at the Sanctuary and the Huntridge, as well as the mideon (or whatever the name of that hollowed out movie theatre in old Vegas was called). Being around a decade ago when actual contributing members of the community like Spit from Tribal (RIP) were around and at shows... I've put my time in, I haven't sat by and watched from a distance.

Pride is nothing more than club trash that saw an opportunity. If you're celebrating that, then go ahead, celebrate it, but at least understand what you're talking about.

Say whatever you want about people 'stalking'. I'm making my third, well written, calmly articulated post on this subject, but these 'Pride fans' (I'm pretty sure it's more accurately described as friends and family) are carrying on, screaming and pounding away at their poor, beaten keyboards like thirteen year old little girls with a deep desire for attention from Daddy, or an anger management complex.

Oh, and don't get me wrong, I understand it's the fad and it's really in to look crazy, but the mere fact that you cannot sit down and defend your points like a human being makes YOU look like the idiots, not me.

Also, do me a big favor, point out the 'illegal harassments' that you insist I've been apart of. I'd love to see them. When Pride is campaigning to say that Lady GaGa (you know, that woman who's actually successful and has a career outside of the sad bracket of the Vegas borders) has stolen their gimmick, something that is actually slander, and you support her, you sort of lose your moral high ground to tell people when they're teetering on the border of legal rights.

I'm almost tempted to begin illegally harassing these people, because one of two things happen. Either Pride shows up to court and continues her pathetic miming of things she saw from GG Allin YouTube videos, or she shows up acting like the washed up club trash, Wild On wash out that she really is, and exposes herself, and her PUNK ROCK gimmick for what it really is.

Thank god every moment you even think about D7 or Pride that this is happening in a town with such low standards and values as Vegas, and not somewhere like San Fran with actual ground breaking talent like Jello Biafra or DC with the community that grew up with Bad Brains and Fugazi... because these bombed out walking wombs you idolize would have been laughed off the stage at every venue.

I'm not going to make personal attacks like some have, but I'm going to say this. Pride and I recently became friends and business partners. She's one of the most articulate people I've met, and for those who don't know her, you're missing out on an amazingly beautiful and talented person.
Get used to seeing and hearing more of Pride. Very soon, she and I are going to be household names. For the haters, you're going to despise us both, but thank you. It just feeds more fuel to our fire.

Hey ravenstorm, at least you're honest. You said it yourself, you're business partners. That's been my point all along. She's not in it for a message or for the art, it's a business, it's a launching platform for a career.

Now, if that is the transparent motives, then that is fine. All I'm asking is that people are honest about it. Instead, people like crazypie, gruff, and the rest of the gang, still try to justify some way that D7 was this influential Vegas punk band, and that Pride is some visionary.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I have zero respect for people who have such little confidence in their ability as an artist that they have to become some shock value side show. It really is just waving the white flag to artistic integrity.

The saddest part is, the fanboys who are so out of touch with the landscape that they attack anyone who doesn't blindly follow Pride or D7 in goose-step formation. I saw these same group of illiterate water heads attacking a couple of people on another Vegas Weekly article for saying D7 was obnoxious and phony in interviews (which they absolutely, AS A FACT, are. It's not a matter of opinion, it is by definition a fact.)

These people want to credit Pride and D7 for being these queens of the Shock Rock territory, and as being so artistic and controversial, well, then you should expect that people won't all agree on the product. Anytime someone is doing something that you yourself admit is polarizing, you have to expect people to have a different opinion as you.

It really is a crying shame that the first intelligent person to come to Pride's defense is a direct business partner. I'm still waiting to see a fan with something intelligent to say.

Pride has done more than enough to earn respect. I chose her as a business partner based on her previous work, having been on various national and international programs and media outlets. I also know she cares deeply about her work, and is one of the few nice people in entertainment.
As some have noted, she carved a niche long before D7. I chose her because her work ethic, passion for entertainment, and her personality.

I'm excited! Pride and the Vanities will be performing soon I here, Its been way over do. I saw the last show at Wasted Space and it was this sick -sci-fi sexy performance art show! I'm glad there was no fake blood and all that 90's crap! This was inventive,creative, and so cool...oh and all original music that I hear Pride wrote.
