New Year's Eve fell on a Thursday this year, so after the balloon-drops, the countdowns and the midnight smooches, it'll still be only Friday!
OK, so now what? Eat, drink and do it all over again at any number of the events designed with your post-New Year's comfort in mind. Just keep repeating: "Hair of the dog. Hair of the dog."
Kerry Simon at Palms Place has beefed up his Sunday Brunch offerings for the New Year, kicking off with a special New Year's Day Brunch from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The new offerings include a crepe station, Anson Mills graham pancakes, lobster or pulled-pork benedicts, Champagne bar, and a prime-rib station for $45 per person.
First Food and Bar's own Recovery Brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. January 1-3 costs $24.90 per person and is stocked with hair-of-the-dog specials. Try the $5 tableside Bloody Marys or $10 bottomless Bellinis, Mimosas and Strawbellinis. DJ Jeff Retro spins a gentle chaser to the thumping still ringing in your ears from the night before.
In recognition of National Hangover Day (and no, that's not every Sunday), Serendipity 3 at Caesars Palace is offering a special Hangover Omelet ($12) made with bacon, French fries, mushrooms and cheddar. It's served with your choice of a waffle or sweet potato fries, as if an omelet padded with French fries needs any accompaniment at all.
Voodoo Lounge presents Spundae Day One, A Family Affair with DJs Freddy B., Alex Terranova, Pat Schoolastra, Levon James, Robert Oleysyck, Funkybadchad, Dave Onex and Boteka on the patio and DJs KC Ray, Ryan Christian, Vegas Vibe, Maze, Michael Toast, CB Shaw, Quickie Mart, Albert Gruve, Joey M, Josh Abrams inside. Gino LoPinto, the Weekly's Deanna Rilling and Pedi Amiri host.
Rockhouse presents the New Year's Day Walk of Shame Party; it's like you never went home. Come as you are (or as you were the night before) and drink $5 shots and two-for-one beers all day.
At Soulzburry, New Year's Eve afterhours continues all weekend long as Lance Sherman and John Musso present Resolve Afterhours 2010 at Ossum's BASSment with DJs Brian Hart, Sien Pileggi, Frank Charles, Spacebyrdz (DJs Oscar Molina and Annexx) and DJ Fabian Arche. Doors open at 4 a.m. and cover runs $20-$40. Local ladies free. Also Saturday.
Hungover & Broke at Revolution's The Closet LGBT night features a restorative oxygen bar, $1 Bloody Marys and Vitamin Water giveaways.
Moon hosts The Rewind, a special Goodlife Sunday flashback celebration with complimentary champagne from 11 p.m. to midnight for all locals and a look back at some of the greatest musical hits from 2009. Local ladies free.
Hungover and Broke, a New Year's afterparty at Lavo will feature an open vodka bar for locals until midnight, a second chance at a New Year's Eve countdown and champagne at midnight.

The Electronic Music Café on Main Street celebrates a very soft opening with a 10-hour marathon featuring DJs Kenny Jason, Rory McAlister, Jesse Saunders, Marcello, Leo Diaz, Carlos Sanchez, Douglas Gibbs, Trevino, Doug Wilcox and Les Paul, 6 p.m.
Steel Panther begins a Saturday night residency at the House of blues with a live performance at 11:30 p.m., $20. Free for locals in January.
