The sad truth is that some of you reading this have either lost your job or will lose it before the year is over. But nearly as sad is that when most of you try to get unemployment, you’ll find yourself lost amid a sea of busy signals and impersonal websites. For the first time in state history, the unemployment call center is being staffed on Saturdays, but with our state in the throes of a 9.1 percent unemployment rate, it’s not even making a dent. Come on, Nevada—make us wait in line, like the old days! Sure, we’ll be grumpy, but at least we’ll be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
