He’s the Dog, the big bad Dog… THE Bounty Hunter

Our Q&A last week with Al the Bounty Hunter got quite a few people talking. Including the King of All Bounty Hunters himself, Duane “Dog” Chapman, who called us from Colorado to tell us he loved the Q&A—except the part where Al says Dog’s A&E reality series is “not accurate” because Dog isn’t armed. “My stuff is 100 percent real,” Dog says, adding, “If you have a gun and the other guy has a gun and he draws first, you’re still dead.” He says he appreciates states that don’t allow bounty hunters to carry weapons. “I believe the only ones who should carry lethal weapons are cops.” His wife, Beth, acknowledges that her husband cannot carry a firearm because of a felony charge 35 years ago, but says her crew chooses not to be armed. “As a bondsman for 20 years, I would not hire someone who carries a gun.” As to the show’s accuracy, Beth reminds us that Dog has 30 years of experience as a bounty hunter, adding: “We’re not Jon and Kate Plus 8. This is a real, real show.”

To Dog the Bounty Hunter,
It seems to me You must have read Al's Article because you responded to it. I agree with your tatics and also his tatics. I'm a faithful watcher of your show, I do believe you have 7,000 or more captures because you also do pick ups in Colorado with Bobby Brown(by the way is he really that short?) So on your TV show you work with your family members,so you agree with Al's article have you tried to contact him yet? Maybe you can strip Al of his weapons and teach him your way, after all you are the King of Bounty Hunters. Al hasn't been in this field as long as you maybe you can take him under your wing to help further his career and help get him the recoginition that he needs to make him a better bounty hunter like you. I've watched your shows for the last 3 years you always have family members or Bobby Brown.Have you ever thought of having someone like Al join your team everyone says he looks like a libriaian that would be a great disguise. Thanks for all the hard work you do Dog the Bounty Hunter for keeping criminals off the street. Me and my friends agree that maybe you and Al could do something in the future that would be a great show!!!
Sincerly Yours,
A Fan Forever

Looks like the Dog has eyes everywhere, hears everything...that's why he is the UBH (ultimate bounty hunter). Well Al the Bounty Hunter doesn't hold a candle to your notoriety. I watch your show faithfully every week. As Laviano07 says maybe you do need to contact him and teach him a thang or two about the Dog way. Aloha.

Hi Dog, love your show. when i read the article last week about Al the bounty hunter, i was surprised to know that another bounty hunter existed. i thought you were the only one until this article came out. By Al's looks, I would never suspect he was in the profesion. In fact he looks like my neighbor. your response was very professional to Als article. do you think one day you and Al will meet. That would be cool. All my friends are talking about it. bye.

An interesting post-script to this story: Al heard about my conversation with Dog and asked me if I could bring the two of them together by phone. Al's a huge fan. Anyway, I called Dog, and he was incredibly gracious. He took down Al's number and called him back the same day. Needless to say, this made Al's year. I'm sure they'll meet face to face eventually.
