It’s a drink so classic, so good that the glass had to take its name! First’s take on the Honey Old Fashioned ($7) lightens things up with sweet American Honey by Wild Turkey and can be seen this Thursday at 10:30 p.m. on 702.tv as made by bartender Danielle Warner.
Ingredients:
1 oz. Wild Turkey American Honey
0.5 oz. Maker’s Mark Bourbon
3 dashes of Angostura bitters
Two orange slices
Two Maraschino cherries
1 tsp. of sugar
Splash of soda water
Method:
In the bottom of a rocks glass, place the sugar, bitters and one each of the cherries and orange slices; muddle. Remove the orange rind. To your shaker add ice, the American Honey and Maker’s Mark. Strain over ice in an Old Fashioned (or rocks) glass, add a splash of soda and garnish with another orange slice and cherry.
