It was a long night last Wednesday, and the end to an even longer grassroots election campaign for the Las Vegas Prom’s 2009 prom-court nominees. Wet Republic’s pool deck was decked out with balloons, a photo backdrop and a sky full of stars for prom-goers to party under.

And when it was all over, Jet Marketing Director Mustafa “Moose Diesel” Abdi was crowned Prom King, Weekly nightlife editor Xania Woodman Prom Queen, Blush VIP host Ariel Xaubet Prince and local model Shannon Kelly Princess. The elected court will reign until next year, when it will pass its hard-earned crowns on to a new court.
The Weekly asked Las Vegas Prom co-founder Kalika Moquin what the duties of the prom court would be: “Go out to every event invited to—and grand openings—over the next year.” Tall order, but Team Hangover will try to make you proud.
