Two comics J. Caleb Mozzocco says are worth marking your calendar for

Image

The Book of Genesis, Illustrated by R. Crumb: The underground-comics pioneer gets religion with what may be the most ambitious work of his career—a complete, word-for-word adaptation of the first book of the Bible that should reveal new sides of both artist and subject. (October 19, $25)

The Simpsons’ Treehouse of Horror No. 15: The editor of Kramer’s Ergot, one of comics’ artsiest anthologies, guest-edits the annual Halloween special, regular Kramer’s contributors in tow. Whether that’s a brilliant idea or an insane one shouldn’t really matter—either way the results should prove engagingly weird. (September 23, $5)
