Breaking down the lineup, one night at a time

THURSDAY

Don’t miss: The Morning After Girls (Beauty Bar). Because killer Aussie psych-rock bands don’t breeze through every day. Paired with stately Canadian indie popsters The Most Serene Republic, one of the most promising bills of the festival.

Catch if you can: National Southwestern Recordings showcase (Bunkhouse). Even if you’ve seen A Crowd of Small Adventures, The Novelty Act, Mother McKenzie, Hungry Cloud and Dreaming of Lions before, it’s probably never been under one roof. And you’ve certainly never seen ’em mix and match lineups and instruments as much as they’re reportedly planning to here.

Duck in for: Shufflefoot (Aruba Showroom). Vegas-based, old-timey bluegrass? Yep.

FRIDAY

Don’t miss: The Warlocks (Aruba Showroom). Los Angeles’ psychedelic explorers are back; bring your shoes and your, um, gaze. Headlining a niftily planned night that has seven bands toggling between the Aruba’s twin stages, for the price of one admission.

Catch if you can: Jacob Smigel (Bunkhouse). Med school keeps the Vegas escapee from playing here much nowadays, but his weirdo indie-folk ditties should cure whatever’s ailing ya. (He also plays Saturday at Meet Lounge.)

Duck in for: Radaid (Square Apple). Eight-member electro outfit from Mexico? Uh-huh.

SATURDAY

Don’t miss: Themselves (Beauty Bar). If you didn’t catch Doseone’s hip-hop heroics in March, that mistake needs correcting. And if you were there, well, you’re clearly already planning to check his rhymes again. Bonus: Afghan Raiders inside.

Catch if you can: The Clydesdale (Bunkhouse), Halloween Town (Aruba Showroom). Release shows from a pair of locals. The Clydes guys and gals have a new CD, while H Town—which opens for The Killers earlier in the night at some little joint called the Mandalay Bay Events Center—lets loose with a new seven-inch.

Duck in for: Tim Watt (Meet Lounge): British singer-songwriter, ready to slay the ladies? Check.
