Katharine Euphrat

Katharine Euphrat came to the Greenspun Interactive team in July to shoot and edit videos for the Las Vegas Sun and Las Vegas Weekly.

Euphrat graduated from Northwestern University as a print journalism major with a minor in Asian and Middle Eastern studies. She first made the switch from print to video journalism during an internship, anchoring a daily online newscast for Southern California's largest daily business newspaper. Last year, Euphrat wrote articles and shot video stories for a newspaper in Johannesburg, South Africa, covering the crisis in Zimbabwe. During her internship at The Associated Press, her articles and videos appeared around the world, and she got to try her hand at reporting from the White House press room.

When she's not busy working, Euphrat enjoys anything that involves adventure, water and travel. She was a varsity rower for the Northwestern Crew team. She loves to surf, swim, run, snowboard and scuba dive. She's been to 27 countries but enjoys visits to her hometown of San Diego just as much as foreign travel.
