Seeing double: Lady Gaga books second Vegas show
Mon, Nov 9, 2009 (10:23 p.m.)
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga will play not one, but two concerts in Las Vegas next month.
The controversial pop star announced last week that she will perform at the Pearl on Dec 18. Tickets for that show went on sale this past Saturday and quickly sold out.
In response to the overwhelming, though somewhat expected demand, a second performance has just been added.
The newly revealed show will take place at the Palms on Thursday, Dec. 17, the day before her other sold-out concert.
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. performance will go on sale this Saturday at 2 p.m.
Lady Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, has emerged from New York’s club scene thanks to over-the-top live shows, wacky costumes and catchy dance tracks.
Included in this afternoon’s announcement were details of the opening acts for both of the December shows.
Though they call him a kid, one of the two opening acts is actually two years older than the headliner herself: Kid Cudi (real name: Scott Mescudi) will take to the stage in advance of both of Ms. Gaga’s performances.
The “Day and Night” hip-hopper most recently performed in Las Vegas at his album release party at Tao.
In addition to Kid Cudi, the Semi Precious Weapons are also scheduled to warm the crowds next month.
Tickets for both shows share the same $100 or $125 price tag. Those wanting to catch a glimpse of Gaga can hope to score passes during the second round of ticket sales this weekend.
Passes will be available through Ticketmaster (1-800-745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com ) and the Pearl box office.
