Faster than a speeding bullet, it’s Diddy’s carpet appearance

He has been known as many things: Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, Sean John, and Sean “Diddy” Combs, among other things. Yet no one was calling the rapper/producer/designer/vodka czar “on time” yesterday.

Instead, the unpunctual star was jokingly dubbed “Tar-Diddy” at Wet Republic, after making photographers wait for him in the triple-digit heat for over an hour.

While the entrepreneur was scheduled to arrive at the MGM Grand’s adults-only pool at 3 p.m. yesterday, it wasn’t until after 4 p.m. that he finally swaggered down the steps and onto the blue carpet.

He quickly shook fans’ hands and gave a few high-fives as he made his way to the carpet, where the long line of sweaty photographers waited.

From there, Combs wasted no time when it came to making his way his VIP bungalow: The mogul spent less than a minute posing for pictures.

No interviews were given, either.

“That has to be some sort of record,” one annoyed photographer grumbled after Combs walked off without warning.

Even the models hired to promote Diddy’s signature brand of vodka were left looking rather stunned as they stood in their Ciroq bikinis, their hopes of having a photo with the star dashed.

Tar-Diddy swiftly made his way from the blue carpet to his cabana, where he grabbed the mic and urged partiers to make up for lost time.

“I want to see you dancing in the pool, I want to see you dancing on the bar!” he urged. “Let's go, DJ!”

Ever the self-promoter, Combs also used the opportunity to give shout-outs to Ciroq, and later urged male partiers to “keep it sexy” – whatever that means.
